Guidelines for Hosting a Tierrasanta Project

Focus Group”

About the Tierrasanta Project:

The Tierrasanta Project is a grassroots effort looking into an alternative retirement option for Tierrasanta residents modeled after Beacon Hill Village, a non-profit organization, in Boston, MA.   The Tierrasanta Project will tailor its model for residents 50 years of age and older and will provide both social opportunities and a full-menu concierge service to a membership population.

Focus Group Goals:

  • Hold 45 Focus Groups (450 Tierrasanta Residents ages 50 and over) by the end of 2007

  • Determine whether there are enough Tierrasanta residents who would want the services that would enable them to remain in their homes for the rest of their lives, and

  • Determine what those services would be

Focus Group Participant Contribution:
  • Receive information on the Tierrasanta Project.

  • Discuss ‘Needs’ Survey.

  • Provide input to the Tierrasanta model of Beacon Hill Village

Host Duties

After Setting Your Focus Group Date:

Ask invitees to consider hosting a Focus Group in the near future

When Your Guests Arrive:

Provide attendees "Guidelines for Hosting a Tierrasanta Project Focus Group".  Circulate a separate sign-up sheet entitled "Will You Host a Focus Group?"

Assist Leader(s) in collecting Focus Group information and staying within time limits.

At conclusion of Focus Group, feel free to serve simple refreshments.
